Internal notes on candidates, Echo AI interviewer, a redesigned candidate page, and more

New

  • Internal notes on candidates, with visibility tiers A new Notes tab on every candidate profile lets you write internal notes and choose who sees each one: Private (just you, plus anyone you name), Shared (the hiring team), or Interview panel (the hiring team plus assigned interviewers). Mention a colleague with `@` and they're notified by email and in the app.
  • Echo AI interviewer in your interview plan You can now assign Echo as the interviewer for any stage in your interview plan using a clear Who runs this stage? toggle — People or Echo. Stala schedules Echo-stage interviews from the candidate's availability alone, with no human panel required.
  • See what your AI agents have learned about you A new Agents Memory tab on your profile shows what the assistant has picked up about how you work — your timezone, tone, and recurring preferences. If something it learned is wrong or stale, you can erase it with Forget everything.
  • Focus areas, notes, and transcript search for interviewers Interviewers now see CV-suggested focus areas alongside the interview guide, and the scorecard tab includes the AI summary, recordings, a transcript download, and a Search Transcript box to find what the candidate actually said — all scoped to their assigned interviews.

Improved

  • Candidate page: key info and actions always visible The Overview tab is gone. CV match score, current stage, next interview, and feedback summary now sit in a strip above the tabs — visible from every tab. Schedule Interview, Advance, and Reject live there too, with clear explanations when an action isn't available.
  • Navigate intake form sections from a left-hand menu Intake forms no longer stack as one long scrolling page. Sections now appear as a menu on the left, with one section shown at a time. Each tab shows how many questions are answered, and the overall progress bar sits in the form header.
  • Navigate interview plan stages from a left-hand menu Interview plan stages now appear as a left-hand menu instead of one long scrolling page. If a hidden stage has a validation problem when you save, its tab flags the issue and takes you straight there.
  • Interview transcripts are back for recorded interviews The transcript download and Search Transcript panel had silently disappeared after a note-taker provider change, even though every transcript was still being captured. Both are now visible again on the interview stage.
  • Stala always greets candidates by their first name Every message Stala sends — individual availability requests and bulk ones alike — now always addresses the candidate by their first name. Previously the greeting could come out as a bare "Hi," depending on how the AI phrased it.
  • Fewer default permission roles New organizations now start with four default roles — Admin, Recruiter, Hiring Manager, and Interviewer — instead of six. The Coordinator and Read only roles have been retired; existing groups are untouched and keep working.
  • AI agents remember how you work, not just your last job The assistant now builds up a picture of your working style — timezone, tone, conventions — instead of filling up with details from whichever role you last discussed. Job-specific details still apply to that conversation, but no longer follow you onto your next role.
  • Your preferences yield to your organization's AI context When something the assistant has learned about your personal preferences conflicts with your organization's configured AI context, the organization's information now wins — every time, across all agents.
  • Retired permission roles are clearly marked If your organization has a group built from the retired Coordinator or Read only role, it's now marked as such in the permissions UI. The group still works — you can rename, edit, or delete it — but the unavailable "Manage template" action is no longer shown.

Fixed

  • Echo interviews no longer join silently without audio Echo interview tickets were expiring before the meeting started when an interview was booked more than 6 hours in advance. Echo now joins with full audio as expected, regardless of how far ahead the interview was scheduled.
