Sidebar links now work reliably after an update is deployed

Sidebar links no longer silently fail after an update If you kept the app open while an update was released, clicking a page you hadn't visited yet could do nothing until you refreshed. The app now loads the page for you automatically, and quietly moves you onto the latest version on your next click.
